Job Description

Schoharie Central School District is seeking candidates for a secondary Special Education probationary position.  Experience working in self contained life skills classrooms highly preferred.

OPENING:

• NYS Certified Teacher Position, Special Education 7-12, SWD All Grades, K-12

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• New York State certification Special Education required

• 1 to 2 years of successful classroom teaching experience is preferred. 

• Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse set of learners.

• Able to adjust to a flexible workload and schedule.

• Solid communication skills

• Have a track record of being a team player and community minded.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students with disabilities and their families

• Knowledge of best practices in special education instruction and assessment

• Experience with assistive technology and other specialized equipment
   

COMPENSATION:

Salary commensurate with experience according to Schoharie Teachers Association Contract.
