TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Include but not limited to:
Performs a variety of skilled work as a general handy-man; Installs electrical wiring and plumbing systems and fixtures and makes skilled furniture, plumbing, electrical, masonry and carpentry repairs; Repairs windows, doors, floors, walls and other parts of buildings; Performs skilled interior and exterior painting; Responsible for preventive maintenance for the cleaning and repairing of the boilers, pumps, heaters, pipe lines, valves and traps, etc.; Performs plaster and concrete work, laying brick, plastering, forming, pouring and finishing; Maintains pumps and mechanical, heating and cooling systems; Operates trucks, automobiles, air compressors and other power equipment; Performs general grounds maintenance work; Assigns and oversees the work of lower level employees and/or contractors; Performs a wide variety of tasks of ordinary difficulty relating to the mechanical or construction trades.
